Cynthia “Cindy” Leigh Botard, of Decatur, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2025. A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Cindy was the heart and soul of everyone who knew her — gentle, loving, and kind-hearted. She had a way of making everyone she met feel seen, heard, and deeply valued. Her gift for listening and her warm, radiant spirit made her not only a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother but also a treasured friend to many.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Norman “Bo” Botard, Jr.; her loving father, Ralph Holt; her sons, Logan Campbell, Micah Campbell, and Stephen (Briley) Hardiman; her cherished grandchildren, Macy, Reigh, Monroe, and Rylan; and many extended family members and dear friends. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Lola Gillespie Holt; her brother, Robert “Robbie” Wade Holt; and her grandparents, Robert Harley and Dalma Gladden Holt, and Lawson and Katie Gillespie.
Cindy was a passionate entrepreneur and community figure. She was the proud owner of Southern Style BBQ in Decatur and one of the pioneering real estate agents for MarMac Real Estate. Her artistic talent shone brightly through her paintings, which she created in the quiet moments she treasured. Cindy especially adored Christmas — every sparkle, song, and symbol of the season brought her joy. She also deeply loved her dogs, who were part of her family and heart.
Above all, Cindy loved Jesus. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. In her own words, shared in a heartfelt Facebook post, she wrote: “I just got to say I love Jesus and have the greatest desire to learn more and more about Him. Praise my King!” Cindy's life was a reflection of that deep and abiding love for Christ — and she now rests in His perfect peace.
Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her compassion, grace, and unwavering love.
