Dan Beacham Watt

Mr. Watt was survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Marsh Watt; daughter, Allison Gay; grandchildren, Cicily Hayes, Carson Crow, Lilam Gay and Lila Gay, and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Watt graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and later received a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Minnesota. He retired from Amoco BP Chemical.

Mr. Watt was a faithful member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. He served as an elder, Adult Sunday School Teacher, and church treasurer. Mr. Watt also served as a junior and senior high school youth advisor at First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Watt was very active in his community. He was the founder of North Alabama Hosta Society, worked with Junior Achievement, and an AICHE member. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

Services for Mr. Watt will be announced on a later date.
