Eddie Parell Harris

Eddie Parell Harris was born on December 20, 1969 to Bernice Harris and the late Mack Harris. He departed this life on April 21, 2017. Eddie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Velvet Harris, Mary Harris, Cinderella Harris, Sylvia Harris and Manilla Harris; one brother, Willie Clayborn Harris and his father, Willie Mack Harris, Sr. Eddie was a graduate of Courtland High School. He was a dedicated firefighter and had recently been promoted to Fire Chief of the North Courtland Fire Department. Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Gloria Harris of Courtland, AL; two sons, Edderick and Eddquerion Harris, both of Florence, AL; one daughter, Eddrianae Harris of Courtland, AL; mother, Bernice Harris of Courtland, AL; two sisters, Helen Jones of Decatur, AL and Angie Cater (Keith) of Oklahoma; one brother, Bruce Jones of Decatur, AL; one uncle, Samuel Billings of Courtland, AL; one aunt, Geraldine Billings; devoted friends, Robert Davis, Pertrina Boling, Prentis McGhee and Louise McGhee and a host of nieces and nephews. Eddie truly loved all of North Courtland and Courtland Firefighters as well as all Fire Departments of Lawrence County. He truly loved the following as his own children, Quinton Harris, Tamia McGhee, Caiden Vinson, Catedria King, Armond Harris, Kordell McGhee, Shaterika Boling and Lasabre Boling. A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Courtland. Eddie will lie-in-state from 12noon until time of the service. A time of Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2017 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, AL.
