Trinity, AL
Butch, as he was affectionately known by his family, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at his residence doing what he loved and enjoyed doing on his farm. He enjoyed tinkering with his equipment and making improvements to the family land. He was a giving and kind man, who would teach anyone that was willing to learn what he had to teach. He was also an amateur archeologist, who in past years enjoyed artifact hunting and learning the history of the Native Americans in our area. Butch believed very strongly in making sure that the history of the area was preserved the correct way for future generations to enjoy and learn from. He was born November 2, 1942 to Eugene W. Stewart, Sr. and Helen Mooney Stewart. He was a retired employee of Solutia. He was a husband, father and amazing Papa. Butch was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Gilliand Stewart; one daughter, Stacie Elaine Stewart; one grandson, Kamdon Alexander Stewart; brother, Lynn Stewart (Chris) of Madison; two sisters, Letty Algren (Rodney) and Mary Ann Reece (Jim) of Birmingham; special brother, Archer Lamb (Terri) of Auburn; one aunt Bobbie Mooney (Fob) James of Fairhope, AL and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Reece and Gary Hill officiating. A time of gathering with the family will be from 12:30pm until 2:00pm Saturday at the funeral home with burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
