Homer Lee Christopher, 82, died May 24, 2011 at Decatur General Hospital. He was born October 22, 1928 in Preble County, Ohio, to Homer Christopher and Alma Christopher. Mr. Christopher was a member of First United Methodist Church, Decatur, and was retired from International Paper.
Mr. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joann Christopher; sons, Richard D. Christopher (Melissa), Michal L. Christopher (Karen); daughters, Phylis A. Otey (James), Sheila J. Reavis; brother, Marvin Dean Christopher; sisters, Donna Dearth, Sue Rowe; grandchildren, Cathy Otey Oliver, Sean Lake, Deanna Christopher Bastin, Jamie Otey Oldham, Jeremy Christopher, Erin Christopher Olson, Nicole Reavis Casteel, Brian Christopher, Sarah Christopher Sapp; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be today, May 27, 2011 at First United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church. Officiating will be Dr. Terry Greer. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church, Decatur.
