Hubert Vernon Johnson, 87, of Decatur, passed away on December 18, 2017. His visitation will be at Roselawn Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 P.M. until 2 P.M. His funeral service will follow at 2 P.M. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Dr. Ben Hayes is officiating.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Lucy Self Johnson, sister, Irene Johnson Reyer, and brother W. C. Johnson.
He is survived by his former wife and special friend Mary Sue Johnson, sons, Randy Dover, Doug Dover, and Jeff Dover; five nieces, two nephews, five grandkids, and two great-grandkids.
He served his country in the US Navy, and loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Vandiver, Gary Johnson, Terry Johnson, Randy Dover, Doug Dover, and Jeff Dover. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Hamlin, Roy Mitchell, and Al Siverling.
Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
