Jamie Petty, 90, of Decatur passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.
She was born September 27, 1935, in Hermitage, Tennessee, to Frank Baugh Carter and Ethel Lawson Carter.
Jamie is survived by children, Cindy May (CJ) of Arrington, Tennessee, Rick Petty of Decatur, Alabama; grandchildren, Jessica Cornett (Sean) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jennifer Sharp (Ben) of Nashville, Tennessee; great-grandchildren Carter and Brady Cornett; and a brother, Charles Carter of Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Jamie was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Petty; parents, Frank and Ethel Carter; and brother, Bobby Houston Carter.
She and Allen moved several times before settling in Decatur in 1968 where she enjoyed golfing at Decatur Country Club and attending Parkview Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1-2 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home located at 741 Danville Rd SW Decatur, AL 35601.
The family will be having private funeral services.
