Jimmy Dwight Bolton is survived by his wife of 6 years, Terry; his children, Misty Black, Brandon Cribbs, and Sasha Kratz; his son-in-law, Shawn Kratz; his daughter-in-law, Meghan Creasey; his five beloved grandchildren, Alex, Phoenix, Tristan, Atreyu, and Hayden; his mother-in-law, Genna Wagner; his sister, Darlene Mitchell; his nephews, Barry Manner and Bob Bolton; his niece, Cindy Burns; and his close cousins, Brenda Walker, Janice Terry, Betty Sims, Kerri Curtis, and Cherri Blankenship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bolton; his sister, Sara Manner; and his brother, Billy Bolton.

Jim Bolton, 79, beloved husband, family leader, and granddad, passed away on August 18, 2025, after a short battle with Lung Cancer. Born on November 12, 1945, in Cullman, AL, Jim’s life was marked by a servant heart, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Jim graduated from West Morgan High School, where he excelled in athletics, earning many achievements and titles. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He earned the following awards and achievements, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. Post-service, Jim began a career as a commercial truck driver for 49 years.

Known for his love of horses, he was a genuine cowboy. He participated in team penning and had a passion for the rodeo. Along the trail, Jim’s love for people led him to build lifelong friendships, mentor children, and preserve the cowboy way of life.

Pallbearers will be Barry Manner, Mike Arnold, Philip Morrison, Oscar Griffin, Randy Stalneker, and Ray Garren. Honorary Pallbearers are Bailey Morrison, Danny Bradford, Jeff Ikard, Jerry Sanderson, Jr Dixion, Nathan Patterson, Rex Hunt, Ronnie Ingram, and Zane Cardwell.
