

Joyce Bondurant Nabors of Decatur, AL entered into rest on April 24, 2026, at the age of 89. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Jack Lovelace officiating.
Joyce is survived by her son, William "Rip" Nabors (Lee Crane Nabors); daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Nabors Alverson; Five grandchildren, Joyce Anne Nabors Decker (Matthew), William B. Alverson, III (Helen Anne), William "Bill" H. Nabors, III (Mallory), Virginia Blanche Alverson, and Stella Elizabeth Gray Alverson; brother, Thomas E. Bondurant "Teb" (Charlotte); eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" H. Nabors.
She was born to Thomas and Mildred Bledsoe Bondurant in 1936. She graduated from Woodlawn High school in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1954. She attended Eastlake United Methodist Church and later graduated from Samford University as a member of the first graduating class on the new campus. She married William H. "Bill" Nabors in 1957 and they moved to Decatur shortly thereafter. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church; she sang in the choir and was a member of the Lovett Sunday School class.
For over twenty years, she, along with Pat Woller, taught "PlaySchool" on college street. They provided a safe, fun, and enriching experience for generations of preschoolers in Decatur.
She, along with Pat Woller, and June Odom, formed The Wedding Committee, a local business which provided stunning floral arrangements for weddings and special occasions in Decatur.
In addition, Joyce worked for several years for two major Decatur businesses, Littre II Lumber and Summit Tree Stands.
She was a volunteer for many charitable organizations over the years, including Decatur Junior Service League, Power of Pink, and Hospice of the Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
