Kim Stewart Weaver passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the age of 55 in his Warrior, Alabama home. He is preceded in death by both parents, Josephine Pettey Weaver and Harold Douglas Weaver and his brother, Steven Douglas Weaver.
Kim proudly celebrated his seventh year of drug addiction sobriety January 28th of this year. He worked for Bradford Health Services, the rehabilitation center responsible for his return to a life of joy and accomplishments. Kim was known for his Alabama Ivory dear antler carvings. He followed his mother’s lead in collection and sales of art, memorabilia and antiques.
At Bradford, he was known for his “auctioneer” portrayal of the purchase of a life turned over to God. The price being 100% committed to staying drug free. All (100%) being the only acceptable price! Kim made many friends of Bradford employees and Bradford patients. He influenced many and helped all by living drug free and clean. He walked the walk and was a living example. Kim traveled near and far to show others there is a better way. He set up, organized and managed the Alabama website for Cocaine Rehabilitation.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. A memorial service will be Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at Bradford Health Services in Warrior, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice.
Recovery Road
I stumbled, I staggered, I fell, I cried.
I yelled, I screamed, I almost died,
I hit, I fought, I cussed, I lied.
I prayed for the end, by Gods grace I’m alive.
At the end of the road, I was given a book.
It was big, it was blue, it held things that were true.
I took it, I read it, I listened, I tried.
I found truth with a new light, where all hope had died.
I have a reason, I have drive, I have a purpose to be alive.
I have gratitude, I have faith, I have God standing by my side.
The 12 promises are real I know they come true.
Put the 12 steps in your life, grow up, and be……the real you.
