Funeral for L.C. Cox Jr., 71, of Decatur will be Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Katheryn Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Cox, who died Wednesday, August 10, 20111, at his residence, was born January 4, 1940, in Limestone County to Maxie Leo Cox and Louise Cox. He was retired from Monsanto. L.C. was a kind, loving man. He was a trusting and caring family man and a neighbor to everyone that he met. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and teaching others to enjoy the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and prided himself on the appearance of his home and yard. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Charlie Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Thompson; two sons, Gary Leon Cox and Randy Mac Cox; former wives, Sue Cox and Faye Cox; and one sister, Jean Cox.
Pallbearers will be Jim Roberts, Chris Barry, Johnny Perkins, Jackie Watkins, Marvin "Doonie" West Jr. and Joe Mears.
