

Lowell was defined by a rare and remarkable sense of dedication. He attended Decatur City schools, graduating from Decatur High School with a perfect attendance record, having never missed a single day of school in twelve years. This work ethnic carried into his his professional life. Where he spent many years in construction driving heavy machinery, primarily with Water Brothers.
Outside of work, Lowell was happiest when he was near the water. As an avid fisherman, he spent countless hours finding peace and joy on the Tennessee River and Flint Creek. When he wasn't fishing, he was likely cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, catching a game of golf, or enjoying the high energy of a WWE wrestling match. Above all, Lowell was a man you could count on. He was a steadfast friend who would show up to help anyone in need, regardless of the hour.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Wimberley (Jonathan); his two cherished grandchildren, Braxton Braswell and Chloe Braswell; sister, Cindy Barnes (Tommy); Aunt, Mary Eloise Helms; He is also survived by his best friend of forty-plus years, Kim Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Wimberley.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow immediately after at Midway Memorial Gardens with Reverend Thomas Webb officiating.
