

Mabelene Landers Wallace of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Born December 25, 1939, Mabelene will be remembered as a devoted, faithful, and hardworking woman whose life reflected steady love for family, service, and community.
Visitation will be held on February 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Branch officiating. Committal will take place at Roselawn Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
Mabelene is survived by her son, B. Dwight Hill Jr.; daughters, Shelia Hemphill (Doug) and Rhonda Stillwell (Edmond); brother, Doug Landers (Gwen); sister, Alma Jordan; step-children, Bryan Wallace (Kim), Jackie Wallace (Shawn), and Crystal Wallace; Grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Chan (Albert Kaming Chan), Christy L. Peluso (Gabe),Jacquelyn Culp, Chelsey Rose Jones (Nick), Gatlin Hill, Hollie Smith (Seth), and Blake Hemphill (Samantha); Great-grandchildren, McKenzie B. Long, Kaleb Hall, Kyli Hall, Gabriel Peluso III (Lindsay), Oliva Peluso, Jason Jones, Daniel Jones, KayLeigh Rose Jones, Landon Jones, Mayson Jones, Millie Rose Jones, Savannah Smith, Avery Smith, Cameron Hemphill, Addison Hemphill, Ava Yunye Chan
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliot Jackson Wallace Jr; parents, Minnie and Rob Landers; brother, Junior Landers; sisters, Frances Sibley, Katherine Millwood, and Kathleen Landers; granddaughter, Amanda J. Hall
Mabelene’s education began at Chalybeate School in Moulton, Alabama. Later in life, she continued her studies with determination, pursuing business, Computer Programming, and Accounting at Calhoun Community College.
Throughout her working life, she applied her talents with care and skill. Her work history included tailor and seamstress at Rogers, Parisian, and for private clients, as well as work with Montgomery's Sports Center. She also devoted time and effort to Real Estate Investments and Rental Property.
A woman of deep faith, Mabelene served many years in the Nazarene Church. She was a member at Spring Avenue Church of the Nazarene, where she served for many years as a Board Member, Missions President, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Coordinator, and children’s church President.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel M. Peluso II, Gabriel M. Peluso III, Doug Hemphill, Albert Chan, Kaleb Hall, and John Branch. Honorary pallbearers, will be Dwight Hill, Gatlin Hill, Nick Jones, Edmond Stillwell, and Daniel Hall.
