Mamie Daily McCord

Funeral for Mamie L. Daily McCord, 91, formerly of Decatur, will be Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Russell Letson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCord, who died Monday, August 20, 2012, at Grace Memory Care, was born January 28, 1921, in Lawrence County to Jimmie Roe Letson and Essie Ann Filyaw. She was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church and was retired from Prestolite. She was a former cosmetologist for Rainey's Beauty Shop. Mrs. McCord was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, H.W. "Mutt" McCord and Cliff Daily; sister, Minnie McGee; brothers, Ralph Letson, Russell Letson and Travis Letson; and stepson, Bill Daily.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Daily Brashear of Katy, Texas, and Margie Daily Phillips (Stan) of The Woodlands, Texas; two stepsons, Mike McCord of Birmingham and Pat McCord (Mary Jo) of Florence; three stepdaughters, Helen Compton of Decatur, Kathy McCord Brown of Muscle Shoals and Dorothy Stovall (George) of Decatur; sister-in-law, Edith Letson Parris (Jim) of Priceville; three grandchildren, Daniel Brashear, Megan Phillips and Mason Phillips; 16 stepgrandchildren.
