Funeral for Martin A. Fleming, 85, of Decatur will be Friday, December 16, 2011, at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with Sherri Harris officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Fleming, who died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at his home, was born August 11, 1926, in Dolomite to Oppie Otto Fleming and Leona Wangle Fleming. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korea. He retired from Fruhauf Corporation. Mr. Fleming was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of Fellowship Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Simpson Fleming; his parents and three brothers.
He is survived by his son, Martin David Fleming and his wife, Donna Lane Fleming of Hartselle; brothers, J.P. Fleming, Robert Fleming (Melba), James Fleming; sisters, Helen Land, Margaret Gallups, Edna Dillard (Bill).
Pallbearers will be his brothers and other family members.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fellowship Sunday school class.
The family would like to express appreciation to Hospice of the Valley.
