Richard Arthur DeVoe, 92, of Priceville, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 12 from 2:00 PM 3:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 3:00 PM with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Mark Hampton, nephew, and Kristi Huskey Hill, family friend, will be speaking during the service.
Mr. Richard “Dick” DeVoe is survived by his loyal wife, Mae LaVerne DeVoe, of 71 years; one son, Arthur Mark DeVoe, from Huntsville, Alabama; one brother, Douglas Earl DeVoe, from Enterprise, Alabama; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Michael DeVoe; granddaughter, Julia Claire DeVoe; parents, Viola Winifred and Arthur William DeVoe; one sister, Donna Viola DeVoe Cauffman and two brothers, Duane Clarence DeVoe and Dean William DeVoe.
Dick was born March 18, 1933, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Viola Winifred and Arthur William DeVoe. He was a graduate of Dexter High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1953-1955. Over the years he was employed by Ingalls Shipyard, Reynolds Aluminum, Williams Auto Parts, and Kroger (Decatur, Alabama), where he retired in 1995 after thirty+ years.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hampton, David Tidwell, Stevie Tidwell, Tim Hill, William "Bill" Pensworth, and Arthur DeVoe.
