

Roma Dean Perry, 78, of Decatur, passed away on September 1, 2016. Mrs. Perry was born February 22, 1938, to Roy Lee and Ora Gilliam in Decatur, AL. She was employed for a number of years at Martin’s, Roger’s Department Store, and Woolco of Miami and Huntsville. Mrs. Perry was a master of decorative cakes, with people coming from all over to order from her. She also loved to travel. She visited numerous countries around the world and cherished the experiences she gained. She was also an avid Alabama football fan, enjoying the time spent watching the games with her family.
Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie “Don” Perry; sister, Diane Gilliam; and grandson, Bo Lee Perry.
She is survived by her son, Steve Perry (Elaine) of Priceville; daughter, Donna “Dee Dee” Perry, of Kennesaw, GA; sisters, Debbie Pirkle (Steve), and JoAnn Sparkman (Bruce); and brother, Daniel Roy Lee Jr. (Linda), all of Decatur; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, September 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. Ben Bates will be officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
