Funeral for Samuel Joseph McClure, 90, of Decatur will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roger Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. McClure, who died Friday, April 20, 2012, was born May 14, 1921, in Sylacauga to Walter and Nora McClure. He served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force during World War II. He graduated from Auburn University with a business administration degree and worked as a specialist for NASA at Redstone Arsenal. He loved beekeeping, farming, yard work and riding his Harley. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Decatur. His wife, Louise B. McClure, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Joe B. McClure and Stan S. McClure; one brother, Kyle McClure; and one sister, Christine Reeve.
