Sandra Lynn Davis

Funeral service for Sandra Lynn Davis, 54, of Decatur will be today at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Paul Chesier officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis, who died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Decatur-Morgan Hospital, was born March 25, 1958 in Decatur to Hardy E. Davis, Jr. and Gloria Elaine Murphy. She was a graduate of Austin High School; Athens State University, where she received a B.A. degree; and Alabama A&M University where she received a Master's degree. She was employed by the Corp of Engineers in Huntsville. She was a member of The First Christian Church, Decatur. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents, Vernard Day Oldham, Lemuel Murphy, Leonard T. Oldham, Hardy Davis, Sr. and Flora A. Davis.

She is survived by two daughers, Jessica Davis and Amanda Davis; two foster sons, Jeff Patten and Jonathan Patten; mother, Elaine Murphy Biggs; three brothers, David H. Davis, Steven Davis, Hardy Davis III; two sisters, Leslie B. Lents and Angela B. Hill; three grandchildren, Gabriel McKibbin, Whitney Patten and Jenna Patten.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Woodard, William Biggs, John David Davis, Brinton Davis, Jon Patten and Jeff Patten.
