Born in the Bronx, Anna’s parents were immigrants from Mytelene, Greece.
Anna discovered her love for art early in life attending Washington Irving High School, in NYC where she studied illustration & painting. She met her husband Angelo at a Greek singles party. After one year, they married and began raising their four daughters in Woodside, Queens.
Her love for painting continued, as a wife & busy mother, she always found time to paint. Anna took classes at Art Students League in NYC. She taught oil painting for over 20 years at Riverside Church in NYC. She was proud to have earned the title "Coast Guard Artist" and one of her paintings hangs in Washington DC today. Over the years she created hundreds of oil paintings, many of them while painting with her dear fellow painter friends, and which she enjoyed giving as gifts.
After raising her daughters, Anna made time to travel to Greece, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Belgium and The Netherlands. Meeting new people while staying at Youth Hostels was a highlight during her trips.
There was always an abundance of food, wine & Greek dancing. Celebrating life with family & friends gave Anna great pleasure. Opa!
