Barbara King

Barbara King, age 79, of Dix Hills, New York passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022. Simply stated Barbara is one of the most elegant person you would ever meet and exhibited poised in any setting. Much of this may be due to the fact that upon graduating from high school in St Michael, Barbados, she migrated to London, England. After a few years in the royal homeland she went on to live in Toronto, Canada; all the time honing her professional skills.

Fortunately for many, she then moved on to join relatives in Brooklyn, New York. Much of her life in Brooklyn was spent working as an accountant which included stints at Brooks Brothers. Barbara did get married and decided to move on to live in Dix Hills, Long Island. Fitness and running became her passion. None more so than running around the reservoir at Central Park and competing in the Chase 5 K runs. When the running got to the knew she complemented her exercise with gardening. No leaf on the ground was safe.

Following her retirement, she continued her gardening and at times she seemed oblivious to the fact that she had a gardener on an annual basis. Barbara continued to enjoy traveling and would spend significant amount of time at the Ft Lauderdale residence. She leaves several brothers and sister and it will be difficult to explain the loss as every thought evokes tears. But we will meet again Barbie.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY.
