

Connie was born on November 1, 1940, to Constantine and Florence Shagon. She spent most of her life on Long Island, where she built a life filled with love, family, and lasting memories. In later years, she especially cherished the time she spent in Carolina Shores, North Carolina, a place she deeply loved.
Connie was truly a strong, beautiful, and loving woman who had a special way of making any gathering feel meaningful and important. She had a vibrant spirit and a warmth that made everyone around her feel welcome. She loved the beach, shopping, decorative pillows, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann Wittke, and son-in-law, Brian Wittke; her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Datkun; and her beloved grandchildren, Kevin Wittke, Susie DeRoy, Christopher Datkun, and Adam Datkun. Connie was also blessed with six great-grandchildren whom she cherished deeply: Connor Datkun, Harrison Datkun, Madison DeRoy, Lyla DeRoy, Alexander Wittke, and Mr. Parker DeRoy.
Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Datkun; her son, David Datkun; her daughter, Susan Elizabeth; and her brother, Robert Shagon.
Friends and family will never forget the way Connie lit up a room with her spunk, warmth, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home on March 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
A Committal Service will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY, on March 14, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
