

Curtis Delmonte Wiles-Bey, 83, of 16 Beltane Drive, Dix Hills NY, entered into his eternal rest early Tuesday morning, February 4, 2020 at Huntington Hospital, Huntington NY. The love of his life, Antonia Walker, married for 60 years, was right by his side. Curtis was born into the Blandford community of Petersburg, VA. January 14, 1937. He loved to play baseball with his friends “over the baseball field”, swimming in Smokey Hollow Creek and rollerskating around the “S” curve near the water works. It was his love for his childhood friends that prompted the first Blandford School reunion held at Bethany Baptist Church. Curtis attended Peabody High School. Upon graduation, he joined the US Air Force, January 1954, where he became a Communications Operator. After his honorable discharge, Curtis settled in New York. Preceding in death is mother Helen Robinson, father Thomas Robinson, sister Loretta Walker, and daughter Cynthia Wiles.
Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. After settling in New York City, he continued his love of sports and joined a local baseball team. He completed his education by attending Delahanty Institute where he started a career in Electronics. His expertise quickly earned him the Moniker “The Doctor”. Curtis met his wife Toni in 1960. He remembered seeing her at the age of 17 and never forgot her. They moved to Wyandanch, Long Island in 1968 where they raised their family. After owning his own TV repair shop, Curtis eventually worked for and retired from JC Penney.
Affectionately called Abu by the entire family, Curtis is survived by his loving wife Antonia (Toni) Wiles Dix Hills, NY, son Charles Wiles (L’tanja) New Haven, CT, Alim H Kabir-Bey, Dix Hills, NY, Tizard Wiles (Sonia) Garner, NC, Ayana Curtis (Robert) Dix Hills, NY, sister Alice Walker Petersburg, VA, niece Crystal Johnson Petersburg VA, sister in-law Sabrina Phipps New York, NY, grandchildren Karima Kabir-Bey, Shariyf Wiles, Lana Curtis, Camille Curtis, Anaya Curtis, Chyna Wiles, Shoman Curtis, Tori Wiles, LaToya Wiles, great grandchildren Cynthia Wiles, Mi’ori Wiles, Kay Wiles, Amine Chaouki, Ali Chaouki, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
