

Peter White Wasmund passed away on November 8th following a brief illness. Peter was 72 and was a 30-year resident of Deer Park, New York. he is survived by his brother Robert, sister-in-law Lynne, nieces Lisa Eden and Erin Wasmund, and nephews Mark and Neil Wasmund. Peter was the youngest son of Robert F. Wasmund and Dorothy V. White, and brother David Wasmund, all of whom preceded Peter in death.
Peter was raised in Ridgewood, Queens, New York, and graduated from Public School 93 Queens and Grover Cleveland High School. Following high school he enlisted in the Navy and worked as a medical corpsman. He served tours on the USS Intrepid and on troop carrier ships in Vietnam.
After completing his naval obligation in 1970, he lived for a year in Japan and then moved to Mineola, New York. Peter married his long term sweetheart Diane Rezin in 1980 and moved back to Ridgewood. When their marriage ended in 1989 he moved to Deer Park, New York where he resided until his death.
Peter pursued his career in the medical profession at the New York Hospital Queens and then New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens as an anesthesia technical support coordinator, retiring in 2019.
Peter’s hobbies centered around music, especially trumpet and drums, scuba diving, and vegetable gardening. He was well respected and liked by all who knew him, for his professionalism, kindness, and offbeat sense of humor, and will certainly be missed.
