Francis Edward Karol, age 94, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Boca Raton, Florida. He was born on December 15, 1931, in Kingston, New York, to the late Walery and Mary Karol.
Francis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He had a very strong faith which was his guide in life. Attending daily mass during his retirement years was of great importance to him. He was a quiet man whose honesty, loyalty and generosity were well known, and was someone you could rely on whenever you needed him.
He shared an extraordinary 71-year marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara, who was his high school sweetheart, the love of his life and his soulmate. Together they built a family that remained the center of his world.
He is lovingly survived by his children: Michael (Lori) Karol, Thomas (Donna) Karol, Susan Karol and Laurie (David) Sindoni. He was a loving grandfather to Michael, Matthew, Ross, Melissa, Joshua, Alex, and Jason and a proud great-grandfather to Patrick and Margaret.
Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Karol; his parents, Walery and Mary Karol; and his siblings, Joseph Karol, John Karol, Helen Newman, and Gladys Karol.
A proud veteran, Francis served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. After his military service, he worked as an electrician and dedicated 30 years to Callanan Industries, where he built a respected career.
Francis was a master craftsman who also owned and operated a small porcelain business with Barbara during their retirement years. He enjoyed boating, golfing and dancing (especially the polka) with his lovely wife. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and the memories they created together.
A Mass will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Saint Ambrose Church in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment for this prayer of reflection:
“May the Lord grant him eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.”
