June P Offerle

JUNE BARBARA (PEPE) OFFERLE, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Born January 30, 1923, in Hartford City, Indiana, June was the daughter of Robert Jerome and Mary Alice (Bresnahan) Pepe. After moving to Fort Wayne, June attended St. Jude Catholic Grade School, graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1940, and then briefly attended Indiana University. She worked as an edit engineer at General Electric during World War II. She married William Joseph Offerle in 1947 and became a bank teller with Central Trust in Cincinnati, Ohio. Returning to Fort Wayne, she became a homemaker, was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and eventually worked at Fort Wayne National Bank from which she retired in 1993. Upon retiring, the couple moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Surviving are her four children Cmdr. Robert A. Offerle, USN (Ret.) of Tucson, Arizona, Judith A. Offerle (William Murphy) of Winnetka, Illinois, Paula O. (Warren) Nesbitt of Bethesda, Maryland, and Margaret Offerle (Timothy Kerr) of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan; and grandchildren, Sarah R. Murphy (Shihwan Chung) of Winnetka, Illinois, William E. Murphy (Mark Copestake) of Wilmette, Illinois, and Shannon L. Kerr of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan; and great-grandchildren, Connor W. Chung and Caitlin E. Chung of Winnetka, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and grandson, S. Carter Kerr.

Visitation is scheduled for 4 to 6 PM on Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home, Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach, Florida. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Deerfield Beach, Florida, with burial alongside her husband following at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.
