Mario was born in Havana, Cuba, on October 28, 1958, to Mario Basante and Gisela Arevealo Basante. At age of three, Mario's family broke free of Cuba allowing them to start a new life. He graduated from Lake Worth High School, and furthered his college education.
He leaves behind his brother, Bill Basante (Becky); nephew, Joshua Basante; and extended family members.
Mario had a strong faith and love for God and also the Country of America which led him to proudly and bravely serve in the US Navy. With his elite warrior training as a Navy Seal, he became a Marksman of Excellence in firearms; this remained a favorite passion.
Upon returning from service, he became a dental laboratory owner and dental technologist. Mario had the passion of the Lion and the skill of Vincent Van Gogh. Mario learned from his father the discipline of making teeth and instilled this quality within him. Along with advanced and intense courses by some of the best master technicians, this put Mario ability and IQ in Dentistry at top shelf. Mario pushed himself in the art of making teeth and became a master at the craft.
Mario also loved the beauty of the ocean as well and the water. Some of his happiest times were spent boating or scuba diving with his "ride or die" friends. Mario loved nature as well; and yes, he did believe in bigfoot!!!!
He was always in for anything. He looked at life like a kid in a candy store. He was a goof with a bit of a naughty side that made him irresistible and loveable! He loved the attention and in return, he gave his love with the biggest heart. He was great at balancing his manly side by having deep, sensitive, loving compassion.
On Mario's 63rd birthday before he passed, he said in writing, "You can measure the worth of ones life by the quality of friends one keeps. If that's the case my life has been well worth living."
There will only be one Mario and he will never be replaced or even close. The ones he left behind that loved him are the most fortunate ones, and it's hard to imagine life without our Mario. The memories, love and good times, will never leave us; in our hearts Mar, we will always love you. XOXO
