Patricia Ann Crawford

Patricia Ann Crawford, aged 98, passed away at the VITAS inpatient hospice unit at Broward Health North, Deerfield Beach, FL on March 25, 2023. Patricia Ann Thomas was born in Islip, NY on November 9, 1924, to Mary T. (Linehan) Thomas and Arthur P. Thomas. With the passing of her mother in 1927, she was adopted by her maternal grandparents, John W. Linehan and Mary M. Linehan, changing her name to Patricia Ann Thomas Linehan. She married the love of her life, Jerry L. Crawford, on November 23, 1947. She was predeceased by her husband after nearly 60 years of marriage and her daughter-in-law, Margaret R. Crawford. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Crawford and Susan Crawford of Deerfield Beach, FL, and her son, CDR David Crawford USCG (ret) and wife, Julia of Tucson, AZ; her grandson, Dr. Brendan Crawford and wife, Sarah; and her great-granddaughters, Claire and Paige; her sister-in-law, Celie Horan and husband, Gus; her niece, Cary Baker and husband, Jim; her cousin, Maureen Kietzman and husband, Steve; and many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from St. Patrick’s Parochial School and Bay Shore High School, Bay Shore, NY. She worked as a telephone operator before becoming a full-time homemaker, living with her husband and children in Babylon, NY. In 1977, Patricia and Jerry relocated to Deerfield Beach, FL where they enjoyed a beautiful life here. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her whole life. Patricia had a kind heart and was always willing to support those around her. She was a volunteer and active parishioner of St. Ambrose’s Catholic Church, Deerfield Beach, FL for many years. She loved watching Notre Dame football. Her Irish eyes were smiling when her grandson graduated from the University of Notre Dame. She loved dogs and cats her entire life, especially her cat, Casey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Tri-County Animal Rescue, Boca Raton, FL, or a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.

On Monday, April 10, 2023, visitation will be from 8:15 to 8:45 am at the Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home, 217 E Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach, FL 33441. Her Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 9:30 am at St. Ambrose’s Catholic Church, Deerfield Beach, FL, followed by a continental breakfast at the funeral home. There will be a committal service from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL.
