Pat was born on January 16, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to South Florida as a teenager. She married Charles (Chuck) Rush in 1961 after graduating from Pompano Beach High School. She called Lighthouse Point her home for the past 62 years.
While Pat held a variety of jobs throughout her life, she always considered being a mother her true calling. She poured her energy into creating a loving and stable home for her husband, five children, and countless pets. Pat made sure her children felt loved and valued, saving every report card and art project. She instilled in them an incredible work ethic and taught them the importance of education and family. A creative soul, she loved gardening and working with flowers, designing arrangements for several of her children’s weddings. She also loved to sew, making quilts for all her grandchildren. Pat was an amazing hostess who threw wonderful parties for friends and family. She was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church, served on the Zion Lutheran School Board, and volunteered countless hours to school marching bands and sports clubs. Pat loved the Miami Dolphins and enjoyed watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. With a huge heart for animals, especially dogs, she rescued and loved so many over the years.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Charles George Rush (Chuck) and her parents, John M. and Ethel Mary Pearson.
Pat is survived by her five loving children: Kristy Rush (Joe Appelgate), Jonnell Michael (Jay Michael), Kenneth Rush, Allison Rush (Jason Bishop) and Daniel Rush (Nicole Rush). She leaves behind nine grandchildren: Kevin and Steven Shlossman; Ryan and Karli Michael; Alexa Rush; Charlotte 'Chuck' Bishop; and Daniel 'DJ', Sophia, and Riley Rush. Pat is also survived by one brother, John N. Pearson, and two nephews, Matthew J. and Michael J. Pearson.
