Many people are blessed with one talent, but Barbara Yvonne Pittman had so many talents they could not be counted on one hand. She was born on February 22, 1935 to Lawrence and Willie Evett in Hugo, Oklahoma, married the love of her life, Bryan Pittman of Midwest City on February 21, 1957, and dedicated the rest of her life sharing her gifts and talents with her four children and her family in Midwest City and later in Harrah, Oklahoma where she lived at the time of her death. She was a master seamstress, had a talent for anything creative from ceramics to tole painting to porcelain, and loved to make beautiful things with her hands. She loved painting with her friends in the World Organization of China Painters, where she taught classes and learned from others, and with the women there created a commissioned set of dinnerware for Governor Nigh and his wife. But above all else, she was an amazing cook. She loved to feed the people she loved, and shared her love of cooking with anyone who needed a good meal. She was a generous artist who created pieces of art for everyone in her family and all those that she loved. Her legacy lives in the cherished Christmas ornaments she made for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and in the love that went into every stroke of her paintbrush. She is survived by her husband, Bryan W. Pittman, her children, Randy Pittman, Shelly Pittman, Danny Pittman and Paula Pittman, her two loving daughters-in-law, Kitty Pittman and Laura Agee, five grandchildren, Bryan, Kelsey, Adam, Meghan and Alison Pittman, two great grandchildren, Daniel and Avary Pittman, her brother, Arthur Evett and sister Cheryl Evett Ritchie. She left us on November 28, 2013. We will carry her in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Barbara Pittman’s name to Free to Live Animal Sanctuary (www.freetoliveok.org, P.O.
