Billie’s greatest pride was raising her children and loving her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry and playing dominoes and pitch. Billie met the man she would marry, Lawrence Wayne “Shakey” Howerton at a skating rink located in the old Farmers Market in downtown Oklahoma City. The two married, on October 13, 1951 and shared 65 ½ years together.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joycelynn Scott. Survivors include her loving husband, Lawrence; children, David Wayne Howerton and wife, Donna, Edward Scott Howerton; grandchildren, Shelly, Jennifer, Edward Jr., Grace, Ginger and Billy; many great-grandchildren; and brother in law, A.K. Scott.
The Howerton's would like to invite family and friends to stop by the Howerton home to visit prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Arlington Mausoleum in Midwest City, OK. Condolences may be offered at www.sunnylanefuneralhome.com
