

Bobby Allison was born April 26, 1930 in Johnston County, OK, to Robert Fulton and Myrtle Elizabeth (Anderson) Allison and died August 17, 2012. Bobby grew up in Ada and moved to Okla. City in 1951. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard, 45th Division, and was activated into the regular Army in 1950 for the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant on December 31, 1951. He was a licensed technician for radio and television and also worked stone masonry. In 1953, he began working at L & S Bearing Co, first in shipping and receiving before becoming the Quality Control department head. He retired on his 65th birthday ending his 41+ year career at L & S Bearing Co. After a few years of retirement, he went back to work at Spectro Wire and Cable for several more years. In retirement he enjoyed sitting out on his back porch watching the birds and squirrels. He also enjoyed building jigsaw puzzles and always had a puzzle under way which he invited all visitors to “add a piece”. He was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Joan Miller of Del City, OK. He was married to the love of his life, Florence Irene Norfleet, for over 60 years. He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife, Florence, daughter Debbie and Jerry Jones of Norman, granddaughter Kelly and Terry Lane and great-granddaughters Sydney and Kendall, granddaughter Brianne Jones and great-grandson Braedon, and grandson Derrek Jones; daughter Karen and Steffen Baecker of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and grandson Duane and Becky Cranford and great-granddaughters Riley and Harper; son Mike of Lubbock, TX, and granddaughter Felisha and Randall Spinks and great-grandchildren Paige, Robert, and Laicy, granddaughter Jamie and great-grandchildren Mailey, Jaiden, and Allison, and grandson Mike and great-granddaughters Melody and Mallory; son Steven of Okla. City; and daughter Beth and Phillip Melton of Moore and granddaughter Alyson and grandsons Patrick and Alex. He is also survived by his sister Ella Riedel and nephews Allen and Jim and niece Sherry; brother-in-law Lonnie Miller and nephew Don and niece Patty; and brothers Dell Kent and Murry (Coco) Allison; and sisters-in-law Pat Walker and nephews Ken, Gregory, Chris, and Rodney, and Louise Archer and nieces Donna Kay and Cherry; and nephew Charles Norfleet and niece Linda Zachary and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was an avid OU fan and attended numerous games over the years with his best friend Ray Davis. He loved being surrounded by family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be at Sunny Lane Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 2 p.m.
