Oklahoma City resident Bonnie Maybell Hollensbe passed away peacefully at her home late Sunday night. Born and raised in Springfield, Mo., Bonnie was the oldest child of John Allen and Gladys Bellamy. Born Sept. 26, 1940, Bonnie was the oldest of 14 children.
She married Daniel Hollensbe Oct. 26, 1987 in Oklahoma City, where they made their home and enjoyed spending time with their large family. Bonnie’s passion for people reflected in the love she had for her family and shined through in her work as an in-home nurse for more than 35 years. Her passions didn’t stop there; she had a knack for creating beautiful porcelain dolls, extravagant crocheted items and numerous sewing projects.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Bellamy; her sisters, Lois Jean Bellamy, Diana Sue Lee, Audrey Miller and Maxine Keith; and her brothers, Allen William Bellamy, Terry Bellamy and Charles Bellamy. She is survived by her husband Daniel; daughters, Cindy Levan, Anita Peterson and Betty McKnight; son, Bobbie Peterson; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews, (too many to mention!) as well as her sisters, Mary Skeath and Viola Adney; and her brothers, David Bellamy, Mackey Bellamy, Jimmy Bellamy and Mark Bellamy.
She was so loved by her family who already miss her very much. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Del City, OK.
