Carol Jean Bateman

Carol Jean was born to Vernon Eugene Vitosh and Margaret Ann Sylvia (Shalla) Vitosh on May 14, 1949, in Beatrice, NE.

When Carol Jean was 5 years old the family moved to Edinburg, TX where they raised cattle and were orchard farmers.

In the summer of 1962, the family moved again to Atoka, OK where Carol graduated high school in 1967. She studied at OSU and then on to California to learn data processing. She worked at OPUBCO for many years and retired there.

On November 14, 1979 she married Billy Ray Bateman. Following their union, they lived out their lives in Okla. City.

Carol enjoyed playing cards, dancing and family gatherings. She was a member of Grace Place Baptist Church.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Margaret Vitosh, her loving husband Bill Bateman and brother Kenneth Vitosh.

Carol Jean is survived by her nieces Lynn Vitosh of Garland, TX and Carrie (Vitosh) Bartell and husband Bryan of Plano, TX. Her nephews Travis Vitosh and wife Amy of Carrollton, TX and Clint Vitosh of Garland, TX. Also 4 great nephews and 1 great niece. A host of special friends.

Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, OK. Pastor Robby Roberson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th St., Del City, OK.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to Grace Place Baptist Church, Okla. City, OK.
