Carolyn E. Van Winkle

Carolyn Estelle Van Winkle, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with her lord and savior on June 18, 2010. Carolyn, 73, of Midwest City, was born to John Herbert Cole and Sylvia Joan (Balch) Cole on January 4, 1937 in San Pedro, CA. She was a 1956 graduate of Tucson, AZ high school and moved to Oklahoma in March, 1973. Carolyn was a Patient Account Manager at Willow View Hospital for 15 years, an Avon representative for 15 years and had previously worked at Woolco and for the IRS. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and watching O.U. sports, especially O.U. football. Carolyn is survived by her 5 children: Debbie Falconer and spouse Ralph, Richard Van Winkle and spouse Lori, Lori Temple and spouse Terry, Michael Van Winkle and spouse Kerry, and Kathy Pipkin and spouse Tim. She had 17 grandchildren: Jason Falconer, spouse Laura, Jeremy Falconer, Jessica Keeling, spouse B.J.,Cassie Van Winkle, Bryan Van Winkle, Garrett Surritte, spouse Jordan, Corey Surritte, Evan Van Winkle, Jenna Van Winkle, Sarah Van Winkle, Austin Van Winkle, Tyler Pipkin, Trystan Cole Pipkin, Robert Rhodes, Kyle Winslow, Kody Winslow and Kris Winslow;10 great grandchildren: Hannah Falconer, Haedyn Falconer, Josie Keeling, Teagan Rhodes, Gavin Rhodes, Zain Rhodes, Kylie Van Winkle, Carson Surritte, Brodie Surritte, and Braedyn Surritte; and her dog, Muffin. Her best friends were Mary Ann Highers and Ellie Smith. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her grandson Austin Van Winkle. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., June 22, 2010, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel at 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK.
