

Cecil J. Smith, 84, of Oklahoma City, passed away December 17, 2017 in Oklahoma City. He was born September 26, 1933 in Oklahoma City, the son of Walter and Naomi (Tye) Smith. Cecil was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Capitol Hill High School. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. He enjoyed horseracing and music, and was a talented musician, playing many instruments. Cecil owned and operated various Appliance and TV businesses and was a member of the Capitol Hill Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Janice Smith, grandson, Troy Ford and siblings, Elizabeth Smith, Irvin Smith, Robert Smith and Paul Smith. He is survived by his wife Beverly Smith of Purcell; children, Terry Halphen and husband Ken of Oklahoma City, Cinda Lovekamp and husband Thomas of Morrison, Devin Smith and wife Pennie of Oklahoma City and Tye Smith and wife Lori of Grove; grandchildren, Sarah Botone, Cory Lovekamp, Jeremy Lovekamp, Taylor Lovekamp, Troy Smith, Devin Smith, Sheldon Smith and Bailey Smith; great-grandchildren, Kenton Richardson, Jaylen Bradford, Jacob Bradford, Gunnar Lovekamp, Lexi Lovekamp Lydia Lovekamp, Camden Lovekamp and Sutton Lovekamp. Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 2pm to 6pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 2pm at the Chapel of Sunny Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
