

He graduated from CHHS in 1957 and worked at Tinker AFB as a computer programmer for over 30 years.
Darrell married Wanda (Herren) in May 1961, and the two of them celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary prior to Wanda’s passing in April 2012. They welcomed three children to this union: Tony, Terry, and Tina. Wanda and Darrell enjoyed traveling after retirement, including cruising the high seas.
Closely following his love for his family was Darrell’s love of senior softball. He has been a player, player/ coach, coach and team sponsor for 25 + years. His teams won tournaments from Hawaii to the East Coast. In recognition to his contribution to senior softball, Darrell was inducted in the OK Senior Softball Hall of Fame in 2017.
Darrell deeply loved his lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a teenager he joined Trinity Lutheran Church in OKC and was still a member at his passing. He held various positions on the church council including Council Chairman. He enjoyed greeting visitors to the church and especially loved singing in the choir.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Ron Pinkerton, and his great granddaughter Mykenzie Goodall.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law; Tony and Tammi Goodall. Daughters; Terry Holeman and Tina Pinkerton. Sister; Zelma Pinkerton Hess. Grandson; Todd Goodall and wife, Mindy. Granddaughter; Taryn Collier and husband Ethan. Great-grandsons; Peyton, Aiden and Austin, and a host of nephews and nieces.
He is also survived by honorary granddaughters; Katie, Cara and Julie. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 23rd at Sunny lane Funeral Home 4pm-8pm. A Graveside Service will be at Dale Cemetery near Shawnee on Wednesday, March 24th at 2:00pm.
