Daryl Lee Brandon, 76, of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. Born in Pueblo, Colorado, on September 9, 1949, and raised in Tipton, Oklahoma, Daryl lived a full and loving life defined by family, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Daryl proudly served his country in the United States Army before building a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and laughter. Daryl had many jobs over the years, but he spent the bulk of his career at C.H. Guernsey in Oklahoma City as a civil engineering technician.
He married the love of his life, Sandra (Caraway) Brandon on June 30, 1973, and enjoyed a loving marriage until her passing on September 30, 2014. In later years, he found a second chance at love with his devoted partner, Kathy Kelso who would have become his wife had she not passed away.
He is survived by his son Matthew Brandon and wife Liz, and their daughter Amelia; his daughter Lori Orman and husband Sam, and their children Cierra (and her partner Mason), Emma, and Leann. Daryl is also survived by Kathy's children Marla, Mark and Christopher, whom he loved as his own, and he cherished their children as his grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by his tight knit group of sisters-in-law Linda and Beckey, and brothers-in-laws, David, Tim, Mike, and Jimmie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Wanda Keys, his sister Diana, and his niece Angie, and his mother and father-in-law, Billy and Emogene Caraway.
Daryl was a man of great faith and served as a long-standing member and Deacon of Walnut Creek Primitive Baptist church. He also found peace and purpose in nature. He loved hunting, fishing, water skiing, and spending time in the mountains of Colorado.
In the last few years, Daryl could be found every morning at Madison’s Diner in Del City, sharing coffee, conversation, and jokes with a close circle of friends who became like family. But more than anything, Daryl’s greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved—his children, grandchildren, and friends. His laughter, his stories, and his steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
