

Deana Marlene Goodnoh Thayer left this world suddenly on July 24th, 2017. Her life was a tremendous testament of how a person should live and love. She was born August 10, 1954 on Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, OK to Dean and Mary Goodnoh. She graduated from Del City High School in 1972 and
continued her education at the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a B.A. in History in 1979. After graduating, Deana moved to Midland, TX to manage a Learner’s Department Store. While working there, she met her future husband, Kenneth Thayer. They were married on October 24th, 1981 in Oklahoma City, OK. They resided in Midland, TX where Deana became employed at Enron and worked there for 15 years. On September 19th, 1991, they welcomed the birth of their twin daughters, Stefanie and Christina. In 2000, Deana and her family moved to Midwest City, OK and she began working for Devon Energy as an oil and gas scheduler. She worked at Devon for 16 years and retired in 2016. Since her retirement, she was able to join her daughter Stefanie on a trip across South Korea and made several trips to Virginia to see her daughter Christina and granddaughter Elizabeth who was born September 20, 2016. Deana loved being involved with her church, traveling, gardening, sewing, needlework, history, genealogy, and spending time with her family and friends. Deana was preceded in death by her father, Dean. She is survived by her mother Mary, loving husband Kenneth, daughters Stefanie Thayer and Christina Clark, Son-in-law James Clark, precious granddaughter Elizabeth, brothers Mark and Joe Goodnoh along with a host of loving family and friends. The viewing will be at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK on Friday, July 28th, 2017 from 4pm-8pm. The service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 29th, 2017 at Country Estates Baptist Church located at 1000 S Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK.
