

Donald Ray Winter, 81, passed away January 25, 2012 surrounded by his family after a debilitating illness. He was born June 28, 1930 to Clarence and Eva Winter in the Covington oil fields. Donald served his country as a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. Soon after returning, he met Orlena Joy Brown and they married March 12, 1954. He worked in many different jobs including, concrete and construction, until he moved to Oklahoma City and became a truck driver for Lee Way Motor Freight, and later Yellow Freight retiring after 25 years. Some of the things he loved was fishing, hunting, gardening, and his dogs, but most of all he enjoyed doing anything involving his grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed as a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Aileen Raulston and Lucille Golliver. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Orlena Joy Winter; son DJ and wife Tamera; three grandchildren, Cory and wife Megan, Ryan, and Stefani; and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by son, Jack Winter and family.
