It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Coleman, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and dear friend to many. Douglas, affectionately known as Doug, passed away on March 14, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 31, 1950, Doug lived a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. Doug was preceded in death by his Mother Lois, his Father James, and his Brother Mike. He was married to his beloved wife, JoAnn, for 55 beautiful years, a partnership built on trust, respect, and unwavering love. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Randy Coleman, Ronnie Coleman, and Christie Fitzgerald.
Doug's greatest joys in life were his grandchildren Mackenzie, Seth, Alexandra, Destiny, Gabriel, Ella, and Madison, who brought endless happiness and light into his world. His great-grandchild, Harper, held a special place in his heart. Doug treasured every moment spent with the youngest members of his family.
A man of strong faith, Doug was an active member of his church community, where he found solace, guidance, and a sense of purpose. He dedicated his time and energy to helping others, offering kindness and compassion to all who crossed his path. Doug's warm smile, generous spirit, and genuine love for people touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact.
Doug had a passion for fishing, a hobby he enjoyed for years, finding peace and serenity by the water. However, his greatest pleasure came from spending quality time with his family, creating everlasting memories filled with laughter and love.
Doug Coleman will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. May his spirit be at peace, knowing he was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by family and friends alike.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held to honor his memory and the impact he had on those around him. Services will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115
