She was born April 19 1920 to William Asher Almon and Dovie Conzada Hoover in Seminole, OK.
She dedicated her life to the Lord, her husband and her family. Next to being a wife the occupation she enjoyed the most was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters Emma Smith and her husband Ken of OKC, Mary Spitzer and her husband Paul of Ft. Collins, CO; son Richard Buckley and his wife Freddie of Slidell, LA; eight grandchildren: Pam Helms, Natalie Simer, Doug Simer, Charlie Spitzer, Jim Spitzer, Greg Spitzer, Joey Faulkner, and Mike Buckley; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, three sisters, four brothers, three grandchildren: Steven Simer, Dorthy Simer, and Roger Spitzer.
The family wants to thank the staff of Emerald Square for the care, love and kindness they gave to Marie and her family for the past two years.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at Bryant Avenue Baptist Church, 4748 S. Bryant Ave., Oklahoma City.
