

Erlinda was born on March 28, 1944, in Dagupan City, Philippines, to Alberto and Milagros Otanes. She pursued higher education with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of East Philippines and later a Master of Arts degree in Management from Webster University.
On November 19, 1968, Erlinda married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Murphy. Together they shared 57 years of marriage and raised three children: Charles Jr., Jay, and Kimberly. Erlinda devoted much of her professional life to public service, working in federal government finance and retiring from Tinker Air Force Base in 2013.
Above all else, Erlinda cherished her family. She was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren and a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and loved to spoil. Her faith and community were central to her life. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma, the National Association for Uniformed Services, and numerous Asian-Pacific Islander associations.
Erlinda is survived by her loving husband, Chuck Murphy; her sons Charles Jr. (Phyllis) Murphy of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Jay (Cambrai) Murphy of Severna Park, Maryland; her daughter Kimberly (Paul) Streets of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Christina (Grant) Oden; Jacob and Jeremiah Murphy; and Luke, Noah, and Mila Streets; her great-grandchildren, Ella, Cole, and Olivia Oden; and her siblings, Alegria Carunungan of the Philippines, Helen Otanes of San Francisco, California, Elizabeth Solis of San Francisco, California, Joselito Otanes of San Francisco, California; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alberto and Milagros Otanes, and her brother, Alberto Jr. Otanes.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CST at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma, with Reverend Simpson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Charles Murphy Jr., Jacob Murphy, Jay Murphy, Jeremiah Murphy, Cole Oden, Rudy Solis, Luke Streets, Noah Streets, and Paul Streets.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
