On Father’s day 2014, Pat McGuire went home to her heavenly Father. Born March 2, 1928 to Etta and Charles Shadrick, Pat Shadrick was the youngest of 9 siblings. In 1948 she married her sweetheart Willard McGuire and together they had two children: Norman and Cherokee McGuire. Pat was a devoted military wife, mom, and grandma; but above all, she was a devoted servant of God. Whatever the need, no one was ever turned away from her home, always showing her family what it meant to love others as Christ loved them. Her legacy is a life well lived as a Christian; living each day to serve Him and others before herself, and in testimony to be strong in Christ and humble towards others. She taught her family to love and seek the Lord and to love each other. She is dearly missed by all who knew her, but we rejoice that she is with her husband, family, and Savior. Pat is preceded in death by her husband and siblings. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their spouses.
