James Robert Bowles

MSgt. James Robert Bowles (Jim) was 78 years old. He resided in Del City, Oklahoma. He went to his heavenly home December 11, 2015 in Midwest City, OK. He was born on May 25, 1937 in Marshalltown, IA to the late George and Ruby Bowles. James came to know the Lord at 18 years old. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1955 and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force. He received extensive training while serving in the Air Force. He served 23 years as an aircraft electrician and received numerous awards including an Air Force Commendation Medal, Third Oak Leaf Cluster. Upon retirement from the military, he worked as a HVAC specialist at the University of Central Oklahoma and at Rose State College. He retired from Rose State College in 1994. He was an active member of Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church in Del City, OK. He married the former Rose Nettleton on June 1, 1990.

He was preceded in death by parents, George and Ruby Bowles; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Edna Bowles; and grandson, Cameron B. Nettleton. He is survived by his wife, Rose Bowles; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Mike Moomey; sons, Kevin Bowles, Robert and Donald; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Graveside services will be held at Sunny lane Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church Building Fund. Donations may be sent to Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church, 4500 SE 31st Street, Del City, OK 73115.
