

CMSgt James R. Eshbach (Retired), the only child of Harvey Augustus and Sarah Elizabeth (Johnson) Eshbach, born November 25, 1918 near Claremore, Oklahoma, his play ground was the land where Verdigris and Caney Rivers met. From the back of his pony he watched over the family's cattle.
Graduating from Claremore High School in 1936, he worked milking cows and on the railroad until he joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 which would later become the United States Air Force. After 2 years time in service he received permission to marry and went home on a 5 day pass to join lives with Sadie Margaret Bradshaw. They were married for 63 years. Together they raised a family of 4 children: 2 boys and 2 girls. Since coming to Oklahoma in 1967, he retired from the Air Force after 30 years and worked many other jobs; to include, Capitol Abstract as a courier and First Southern Baptist Church (FSBC) as a mechanic for their fleet of buses. A Deacon and church treasurer for 20 years, he has helped FSBC go through many changes in the church's history. FSBC remained his church home. He moved to Timberwood Assisted Living in September of 2008 and moved to Heaven on March 20, 2011 at 92 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife in 2006. Survivors include his children, Charles V. Eshbach, Marilyn Sue Rollins, Nancy K. Toy, Richard M. Eshbach; twelve grandchildren and sixteen grandchildren.
Donations may be made to First Southern Baptist Church of Del City in James Eshbach’s name. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City, OK.
