He graduated from Fort Smith High School, and retired from the United States Air Force. He also worked as a security guard. In his free time James loved to go fishing.
He married Elisa A. Stewart, and together they had two children, Kenneth J. Stewart and James W. Stewart, Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Donnie Stewart; and sisters Lucille Schilling, Bobbie Campbell, and Irma Vezay.
He is survived by his wife, Elisa A. Stewart; and two children, James Stewart Jr. and Kenneth Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 3601 S. Anderson Rd., Oklahoma City, OK, 73150.
