Joseph Michael Solomon passed away suddenly at the age of 40 on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Born in Weatherford Oklahoma, where his father worked in the oilfield industry, Joseph spent his early years living in Oklahoma, Wyoming and Kansas due to his father’s job promotions until settling in Tulsa.
Joseph was affectionately known by many names (Jo Jo, Dog Boy, Dingo, Little Joe, Taco Joe, Joby) because of his charismatic personality, jokester behaviors and his enormous heart and passion for helping others.
Joe was educated at Union High School in Tulsa and graduated from St. Gregory’s University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He made a successful career in selling industrial supplies to people in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Texas panhandle.
During Joe’s childhood he enjoyed playing group sports, but his primary interest was wresting and for years traveled all over the state of Kansas for tournaments during wrestling season. Oh… some stories we could tell about this!!!! Joe was an avid OU BOOMER SOONER fan.
Joe was renowned for his skill in grilling and making his signature “spicy” beef jerky. Really anything he cooked was spiced to the max and if spicy wasn’t your thing or your taste buds couldn’t handle it, you best warn him in advance. Joe loved fishing and for its serenity and calmness and often caught enough fish to feed many… those fish must be in a freezer somewhere because we don’t know of any fish fries to date. Joe was the happiest while camping, fishing or hunting (deer, dove and pheasant); the great outdoors was his heaven on earth!
Joe had a big spirit, big personality, and a smile that could light up a room. The highlight of Joe’s life, and of most importance, is when he recently recognized the need for Christ in his life. He accepted Christ as his savior and, hallelujah praise God for that!
Family meant everything to Joe and his memory will be kept alive by his dearly beloved son, Tyler Holden, his precious sister Stephanie Solomon Jenney and husband Jeff and their sons; Ethan and Justin, and adoring parents, Nancy and Joe Solomon, all who love him more than words can express. Joseph was a man who was cherished and will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
From your beloved family… Joe… Love you forever ,RIP, until we meet again!
