Joy Ann Rupp

Joy Ann Rupp, of Midwest City, passed away and joined her Heavenly Father on January 30, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born July 14, 1932, in Lawrence, Oklahoma to William Clay Gregory and Hazel (Keeney) Gregory.

Joy graduated from Central State College and the University of Oklahoma with degrees in Business Education. After losing her husband Jimmie, in 1961 in a Naval aircraft accident, she returned to Oklahoma from California with her three children to become a lifelong educator. Joy was an elementary school teacher at Monroe Elementary in Norman and a business teacher at Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. She also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma. She was chosen to be a charter member of Oscar Rose Junior College in Midwest City as Chairman of the Business Division in 1970 and retired from Rose State College as the Executive Director of Human Resources Development in 2010 after nearly 40 years of service. Joy was also the Charter President of the Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma. As her health declined, Joy moved to the Bellevue Health and Rehabilitation Center in Oklahoma City where she quickly assumed the duties of President of the Resident Counsil. She lived up to her name throughout her life, bringing Love, Joy and Laughter to everyone.

Joy is survived by her son, Jimmie Don Rupp (wife Peggy); granddaughter, Jayna Conklin; grandsons, Ryan and Greg (wife Shauna) Rupp; and four great grandchildren, Kajuan, Olivia, Jackson and Barrett.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William Clay and Hazel K. Gregory; husband, Jimmie Lee Rupp; daughter, Jo Ann Conklin; and son, Johnny Dale Rupp.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, March 25 at 2:00 PM, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. A private, family Interment will be held at Arlington Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
