

After 81 years of a life well lived, Joyce Hopkins Robbins of Oklahoma City passed away on April 22, 2016. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma, to the late Charlie Franklin Hopkins and Myrtie Hobbs Hopkins on July 25, 1934. Joyce attended Latta High School before graduating at Capitol Hill High school, where she met the love of her life Sherman Ralph Robbins. Joyce and Ralph married at the age of 18 and lived happily ever after for 63 years. Joyce served as the supervisor payroll clerk for the Oklahoma County Courthouse before retiring after 24 years of service.
Joyce’s life was spent with great devotion loving and caring for her family. When we reflect on our memories of Joyce, we will remember her diligence in working hard, her fun loving nature, as well as her strong will and spirit of a fighter which enabled her to beat cancer twice, but most importantly an amazing mother.
Joyce is survived by her sister Sylvia Yvonne Jones, sister Ellen Hopkins, brother Gerald Hopkins, brother Charles Wayne Hopkins, son Larry Ralph Robbins, grandson Timothy Donald Robbins, granddaughter Patty Robbins Bruner & husband Nathan, and great-granddaughter Analiese Marie Bruner. She was preceded in death by her husband Sherman Ralph Robbins, sisters Verline McGuire, Ella Loretta Bottoms, Inez Chester, Leretha Tina Sneed, and Thelda Charline Ledford.
